CWSC is
proud to have player members that
love to play soccer but also give
back to the community by
coaching/mentoring younger kids
whenever possible. This past week
two coaches from the Parks and
Recreational Program asked if CWSC
had some older players who could
help out at practice(s) with some
girls U9 and U10 teams. Marshelle
Slayton and Brittany Johnson from
the FCV Freedom and Kellianne
Swenson and Ashley Haden from the
FCV Justice jumped right in to work
with these kids on critical
fundamentals. After one practice the
coach of the Green Leprechauns,
Antonio Gomez, stated "My daughter
kept on commenting about the entire
practice as she went to bed.
Certainly, we got them thinking even
more about soccer. This is what
matters for those of us involved
with teaching soccer to girls." We
have many other dedicated youth
mentors in our club and this one
example of "giving back" is
wonderful to see. Way to go girls!
